The Buckbee Events Center

Located at 2 Colonial Avenue, The A.W. Buckbee Events Center was the Albert Wisner Public Library from 1927 to 2010. This beautiful Federal style building was commissioned by Mrs. Annie Wisner in honor and memory of her husband, Albert. The library was an association Library until the 1970’s when, by vote of the residents, it became a school district public library serving all residents who lived in the Warwick School District.

When a new library was built in Warwick in 2010, the building was purchased by Albert Buckbee (a descendant of the original family) and he & his wife, Judy, gave it to the Historical Society. It served as the WHS headquarters until 2021. Today, The Buckbee Events Center is a hub of activity; along with housing the vast WHS Archives, Clothing and Textiles and Education Departments, it is also a go to location for WHS events, lectures, educational programs, parties & meetings.
